There should've been atleast something interesting added. I don't care what it is, just anything that makes this Flash feel less empty than it is.

For 2000, you've got a good Flash on your hands. I only have a problem with how short it is, unfortunately. This is really cool, good job!
masterfully done mod of the original game. 5/5 would play again. wait that's the wrong reference
I'm very surprised this ended up on Newgrounds, somehow! Feels good to be playing a real Flash game, after 2020, without that stupid layer of Ruffle.
The bitcrushing and detuning of the synths create a dark and surreal atmosphere, but the hard-hitting beat keeps everything focused and in order.
The loud clipping adds to the impact of every kick drum, while the small and hard-to-hear details add flair and style to the track.
The generous layering of instruments paints a deep and otherworldly picture for the listener, right after the rising intro sets the stage.
And it all works so well!
Thank you so much!!! I'm glad you noticed all of that!
Personally, the intentionally muddied audio quality made the otherwise great track hard to listen to. The song seems to be half-noise-music, half-hip-hop.
With that being said, the aforementioned audio quality, Eccojam-style editing, and vibrating melodies make this track very effective at conveying an almost hypnagogic energy. This song's mix of bass-driven hip-hop and wobbly synthwave keeps it dreamy and interesting throughout its runtime.
This track has some really impressive progression in its arrangement. The way this song continually iterates on its melodies leaves each part feeling fresh, and not repetitive.
I'm also extremely impressed with how well-mixed this track is; the mix leaves enough room for each instrument to breathe, while still providing a full and bouncy sound. I did notice a bizarre rumbling sound from 0:44 to 1:38, but it wasn't enough to make that section of the song unlistenable.
Initially, I was pushed away by the old-school synthesized instruments, but even within a runtime as short as 2 minutes, this song managed to use them in novel and aesthetically pleasing ways. I especially enjoyed how the same instruments were used in varying ways, which happened a lot throughout the track.
Despite the odd mixing error, this is a very strong piece, and all of its moving parts work with each other to create something beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you so much for the detailed review! While I do think the rumbling might have been the bass there is also a good chance that it was actually a mixing error, so I'll try to be more careful next time. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
